"I'm going to quit my job, and do my art full-time."

That was the thought that changed my life at 6:00 am on a frosty, January morning in 2006.

Since then, I've made 6 figures in my art business and lived the creative life of my dreams!

As an creative business strategist and teaching and performing artist, I have produced a poetry book, released two soul-jazz albums, written-directed over 35 student-theater productions, and performed across the United States and Europe. In 2004, I started a business to teach STEM, language arts, history, and social justice to 100,000 Pre-K–12 students through creative writing, theatre, music, and visual arts. In 2018, I was part of the first class of NPR's How I Built This fellows.

In 2019, I launched Artist Makes Money ONLINE (AMM), one-of-a-kind, online education courses with a big goal of helping 10,000 visual, performing, and literary artists make more money in their businesses. 

My latest online workshop, Artists Need Newsletters Too (ANNT), helps artists build an email list and create a newsletter to sell their art products and services.
